Celebrating 20 Wild Years with Trentham Monkey Forest – A Day with Louie!

This weekend, Look, It’s Louie! had the absolute honour of joining the amazing team at Trentham Monkey Forest to help celebrate their 20th anniversary—and what a celebration it was!

From the moment we arrived, there was a real buzz in the air. Despite some brief showers (it wouldn’t be a true British summer without a bit of rain!), Louie was out and about, bringing smiles, laughter, and some very big orangutan hugs to all the visitors who came to join the fun.

Louie’s walkabouts throughout the day gave guests the chance to meet our fully animatronic male orangutan up close, and he certainly turned heads! Whether he was high-fiving kids, dancing with families, or gently interacting with those a little unsure at first, Louie was in his element. We lost count of how many photos were taken—but one thing’s for sure, memories were made!

The event itself was packed with brilliant entertainment:

African drum classes

Walking tree performers

Circus workshops

Storytellers

…and so much more. The forest came alive with celebration, community spirit, and an important message about conservation, which sits at the heart of both our mission and that of Trentham Monkey Forest.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Josh and the entire team for inviting Louie to be part of such a milestone event. Trentham Monkey Forest continues to inspire generations to love and protect endangered species like the Barbary macaques, and it was a true privilege to stand alongside them.

Louie had the best time, and we’re already looking forward to our next wild adventure.
